British-Nigerian designer, Duro Olowu, who is known for his unique ability to combine patterns and textiles that draw inspiration from his Nigerian roots, announced his epic collaboration with beauty stallion, Estée Lauder, and the hashtag #EsteexDuro is now trending on Twitter. In their own words, “this limited collection celebrates freedom of expression and embraces individuality with curated shades wrapped in designs by fashion designer, Duro Olowu.”
I absolutely love the idea of a collaboration with this brand in particular, because you know, Estée Lauder, with their 40 shades of foundation have been here for the culture for years. It is no surprise that the muse for the announcement and the first campaign was gorgeous Anok Yai.
The Egyptian-born American model of South Sudanese descent rocks a bold green and gold eye for one look, and a stunning pinky-red lip in another. My favourite look so far has to be a more daytime plum eye with golden highlights in the inner corner, and a nude lip because this is literally my go-to makeup look.
Here’s a first look at the collection which includes one daytime eyeshadow palette, one nighttime eyeshadow palette, both with eight shades each, and two lipsticks, all limited edition.
