Brand Spotlight : KAI Collective
KAI collective is a London-based womenswear brand of attainable clothing with luxury aesthetics, founded in August 2016, by fashion and travel blogger, Fisayo Longe. Fisayo establishes KAI after five years of building an online presence through her blog and YouTube.
Her line of high quality pieces range from midi/maxi dresses and off-the-shoulder corset milkmaid silhouettes to crop tops and silk skirts, in just as much variety with textures, from cotton and lace to organza.
My personal favourite is the “Bea” dress, which has slowly become a staple in the influencer space, the “Babita” is a very close second, by the way.
Fisayo is incredibly intentional in making the decision to be as close as possible to the design process, and to make her involvement as visible as possible, so as to make up in trust what she may not have in experience within the luxury fashion space. She even models the pieces on her website, and travels the world sourcing the best fabric, seeking design inspiration, meeting ethical manufacturers to collaborate with. This is relevant because consumers are becoming increasingly aware, and actively require designers to bring them on as co-pilots, while also committing to more sustainable processes; both of which Fisayo has done incredibly well. Now to find the kesh to buy all of it.
